76 FENCE Main Line is a locally owned franchise of 76 FENCE, serving homeowners, HOAs and businesses across Philadelphia’s Main Line and the nearby communities of Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. We design, permit and install fences and gates, and we work hard to make the whole project feel simple, from the first phone call to the moment the crew hauls away the last piece of old fence.

How we think a fence project should go

Built for Main Line properties

Fencing here comes with its own set of challenges. Much of the region sits on clay-heavy and rocky schist soils, and older lots often have mature trees with big root systems right where a post line wants to go. Our winters bring freeze-thaw cycles, and spring brings heavy rain. That’s why we set posts below the frost line, which is typically 30″–36″ in our area (local code governs), and plan each post hole around what’s actually in the ground. Many of our towns also have their own permit or zoning review, and some neighborhoods sit in historic districts or HOAs with design rules. Rules vary from township to township, so we check them for you before anything goes in the ground. Our fence permits page explains how that works.

What we install

We work with a full range of materials: wood (cedar and pressure-treated pine), vinyl/PVC, aluminum, steel with an ornamental iron look, chain link in galvanized and black vinyl-coated finishes, and composite. Popular styles include privacy, picket, horizontal, pool and pet fences, along with custom gates and automatic gates.

You may have even seen 76 FENCE on TV: the brand was featured on HGTV’s “Worst Yard on the Block” (Season 1, Episode 2), installing a horizontal wood privacy fence.

We serve homeowners, HOAs and commercial properties, and we also handle fence repair.
